A captivating immersion into Bridoré Castle's history through 3D technology
This weekend, the French Château de Bridoré opens its doors for European Heritage Days, offering visitors a unique experience: a 3D reconstruction of the building from the 14th century to the present day.
Thanks to drone-assisted photogrammetry, this innovation marks a significant step in preserving and showcasing our treasured medieval fortress.
The Loches-based company Clonia, known for its expertise in pioneering technological processes, created a four-minute video clip that highlights this exceptional reconstruction, based on rare historical writings and detailed architectural observations across the castle.
Photogrammetry, combined with drone usage, captured highly accurate visual data. Every stone, curve, and architectural detail has been immortalized in a virtual point cloud, providing a faithful representation of the Château de Bridoré's evolution over the centuries.
Since the 14th century, the castle has witnessed the region's turbulent history. It endured wars, renovations, occupations, and restorations, standing resilient against the ravages of time. Through this 3D reconstruction, visitors have the rare opportunity to travel back in time, exploring the various eras that shaped the castle and appreciating the architectural developments that have given it its unique character.
We are especially proud to share this immersive experience with our visitors, contributing to the preservation and appreciation of our shared heritage.
We hope this 3D reconstruction inspires your fascination with history and strengthens your connection to this regional gem.
