A film by ICI Centre-Val de Loire on French Bridoré Castle, September 2026

More than six centuries of history told in pictures

Built from the 14th century onwards, the French Château de Bridoré has survived the centuries while retaining much of its medieval character.

The ICI report looks back on this long history and the different owners who have contributed to shaping the castle.

Among them was Imbert de Batarnay , advisor to several kings of France and lord of Bridoré at the end of the 15th century. His presence marked an important period in the evolution of the fortress and its defense systems.

The film thus allows us to place the castle in its era, while showing how much its history remains visible in its current architecture.

Bridoré Castle seen from the sky

The images taken by drone offer a particularly striking perspective on Bridoré.

From the air, the keep, the different wings of the castle, its enclosure and its immediate surroundings are revealed in a way impossible to perceive from the ground.

These views also allow us to better understand the strategic position of the French fortress and the organization of an architectural complex designed to ensure its defense.

A different perspective on a monument that is usually discovered from its courtyards, rooms and visitor paths.

A surprisingly modern medieval fortress

The report also highlights the astonishing modernity of Bridoré Castle for its time.

Behind the imposing image of the fortress lies a building in which architecture, defense and daily life have been the subject of particularly ingenious solutions.

This capacity for innovation is one of the elements that makes a visit to Bridoré in France so surprising today. The castle recounts the stories of the great figures in its history, but also allows visitors to understand how a fortified residence was inhabited, protected, and developed centuries ago.

To raise awareness and pass on Bridoré

This spotlight by ICI Centre-Val de Loire helps to uncover a heritage of South Touraine in France that is still sometimes little known.

For Pierre-Alexandre Mouveau, owner of the Château de Bridoré, this report is also a new opportunity to share this story with a wider audience:

" Thank you to ICI for keeping Bridoré alive and shining! "

The Château warmly thanks Benoît Bruère , journalist and drone pilot, for the images of the report, Carole Ponvert for the voice-over and Céline Girardeau for the editing.

A very beautiful film that offers a new perspective on Bridoré and above all makes you want to cross its thresholds.
